Think about your ceiling height
Ceiling height is one of things you need to think about when you are considering the tone of your lounge room. A quick tip is to consider getting a low-back sofa if you have a lower ceiling. Low-back sofas are sophisticated and modern. They create the impression of an elevated room height even if your room is only 8 to 10 feet tall. Conversely, if your lounge has a high ceiling, try opting for a high-back sofa and utilise it as an accent piece. This gives your lounge room a more luxurious look.

Comfort
One thing that many don’t consider enough when they do their sofa planning is the comfort. Low-back sofas are great for short or elderly people as it allows you to sit at a comfortable level whilst touching the floor. This makes getting up easier as your knees are already at 90-degree angle when seated.
High back sofas on the other hand are recommended for tall or heavier individuals as it provides the support needed for the back and bottom. A taller person would be able to sit with their legs bent comfortably.

Colour choice
Choose a colour and style that is timeless and versatile. Changing your sofa every time you freshen up the styling of your room isn’t the most practical way. We’d suggest opting for one that has a neutral hue and tone so it can easily match with an array of colour palettes which in turn, gives you a broader choice when it comes to restyling in the future.
There are other factors that you should also consider when you are picking your sofa, such as type of fabrics and the size of the furniture. We found these are the most simple ways to start shortlisting the list of sofas that you’re already eyeing.
